Junglemantra is superbly located in 25 acres of mixed mature woodland
on the banks of a perennial lake.
The human impact on the site has been kept to a minimum. This makes
Junglemantra’s lake and grounds a haven for mammals (such as tiger, leopard, bear,
wolf, jackals,sambar, cheetal, barking deer, wild boar, langurs,
foxes, rabbits, hare, mongoose), reptiles (such as chameleons,
monitor lizards) and the over 300 species of birds found in
Bandhavgarh , (such as Paradise flycatcher, serpent eagle,fishing
owl, 3 varieties of Kingfisher, Indian Roller, 4 varieties of Parakeet,
Black Ibis, Wolly necked stork etc are resident). A checklist of
birds complied by guests and staff at Junglemantra boasts over 95
species of woodland, wetland and garden varieties of birds.

A large, raised, open - plan outdoor seating and dining area with
central fireplace, offering spectacular panoramic views of core
National Park.
An indoor seating and dining area is also provided.
A screening room for guests to enjoy wildlife films, documentaries,
screen their own wildlife video footage and watch slide shows on
bird and animal life presented by in - house naturalists.

Delicious continental lunches and 5 course dinners. Junglemantra is the only resort in Bandhavgarh at present operating an in-house bakery. Oven fresh croissants, Danish, sausage rolls, muffins, fresh breads and more for breakfasts. Rolls, pastries, cakes, pies, desserts, cookies etc are all freshly prepared by our Delhi trained chefs, using organic ingredients from our kitchen garden.

On Arrival
Guests arriving by road at Junglemantra are greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and snacks even before they check-in. The check-in formalities are completed in informal comfort in the lounge.

Those guests arriving by train at Umaria (closest railhead) are met by one of our caring staff, who carries with him a welcome hamper, containing mineral water, soft drinks, snacks and fruit. Arrangements have been made in Umaria with a clean family run guest house for guests to be able to freshen up (western style toilet ) before setting off for the resort, if they so desire.
